Description

Decades of research demonstrate that hopelessness is a risk factor for suicidal thoughts and behaviours. But it can be challenging for clients to maintain a sense of hope as they struggle through life’s hardships. In this workshop, you’ll explore novel therapeutic strategies designed to spark hope with suicidal clients. Attendees will leave this workshop with several new skills within the HOPE framework that they can apply in their clinical practice. You’ll learn:

  • Effective methods for safety planning with crisis-oriented clients
  • Specific interventions for suicidal thoughts that won’t go away
  • How to work with suicidality in a way that is collaborative and builds hope, meaning, purpose, and other protective factors that reduce suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
