This dynamic seminar will take you on a journey into the suicidal mind and provide you with a toolbox of interventions for clients at various risk levels. Instruction on suicide risk assessment and suicidal crisis intervention, including documentation guidelines, will be covered with video excerpts from therapy sessions. Specific interventions, such as guided imagery, crisis plans, crisis-coping cards, behavior chain analysis, and increasing positive emotions will be reviewed during the seminar. Experiential activities and extensive handouts are provided to ensure participants leave with specific tools to put into action.

Mary Bartlett, PhD, LPC-CS, NCC, CFLE, Suicidologist, is an internationally-renowned independent consultant, researcher, and suicidologist who is an authorized trainer for the Suicide Prevention Resource Center and the American Association of Suicidology, and is a qualified master resilience trainer. Her area of research is suicide, and she speaks internationally on suicide prevention, resilience, and various mental health related topics.
Dr. Bartlett has been presenting for over 15 years, is well published, and has extensive clinical experience as a professional. She is currently involved in research on the correlation between suicide, resilience and eating disorders, with Dr. Thomas Joiner, and serves the Department of Defense leadership on suicide and resilience related matters, and has served terms on the Army National Guard Resilience, Risk Reduction, and Suicide Prevention Council, the Air Force Resilience Programming and Development Working Group.
Dr. Bartlett serves on the Workplace Postvention Task Force of the American Association of Suicidology. She is a board member of the Ethics Committee for the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals, co-chair of the Academy for Eating Disorders Special Interest Group on Suicide Prevention and Eating Disorders, and is a board member of the Alabama chapter for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
