Emma Palmer


Emma Palmer has practised as a Bristol-based counsellor and relational body psychotherapist since 2003, and as a supervisor and ecopsychologist since 2012. She works at the confluence of therapy, social justice, ecopsychology, climate emergency and the wisdom of contemplative traditions. Emma was previously a steering group member of Psychotherapists and Counsellors for Social Responsibility (PCSR), and editor of its Transformations journal. Under her former name – Kamalamani – she authored Meditating with Character (2012), Other than Mother (2016), Bodywise (2017) and numerous articles. In 2020, #MeToo: counsellors and psychotherapists speak about sexual violence and abuse, was published by PCCS books, co-edited by Dr Deborah A Lee. Emma has also been an educator since she was 24, teaching postgrad international development studies, working with NGOs in sub-Saharan Africa, and offering wild therapy, ecopsychology talks/workshops and leading meditation retreats.
